In 2016 we discovered Bakhmaro and then opened it up. We then set up a backcountry hut in Adjara - remote and only for one group.
Now, we open again a new area.
We scouted the new area years ago. It is definitely suitable for cat skiing. There are tree runs, open slopes and lots of snow!- We scouted cat tracks, planned bad weather alternatives and safe
areas.
We won't know what the accommodation will look like in detail before summer or autumn. Please expect a simple mountain hut. We have ordered basic wood cottages - lets see whether they will be ready before winter starts...
We plan rooms with bunk beds for up to 4 people. Next to the houses we want to place our bathroom container with 3 fully equiped and tiled bathrooms. Of course, we will also take care of the hot water supply and electricity. We cannot promiss yet, but we try to get a sauna there as well...
Despite the simple accommodation, we will take care of some basic comfort. If we are fully occupied there might be not much space in the living area of the huts.
A new area means a lot of adventure and uncertainties. Therefore, the freeriders involved should be able to draw on sufficient experience.
It makes sense to carry skins in your backpack. Since the area is undeveloped, there are no guides who know their way around. Surprises are possible. We will explore the area during the
season.
Accommodation is inevitably basic. We are currently planning to have 2 groups in parallel. Last but not least, this increases safety.
The culinarical well-being is also well taken care of. We have a local team of chefs and kitchen assistants who prepare fresh food every day.
In the morning there is a rich breakfast including muesli, fresh fruit, egg dishes, homemade bread and local specialties. We take a lunch box for lunch so that we don't lose a lot of food during
the day. On bad weather days we can always come to the hut and warm up with a hot soup.
Typical Georgian dishes are then cooked in the evening. Georgian cuisine is hearty and varied. Meals come on the table in bowls and plates, so everyone can take what they like. That way we also
take care of individual diets.
