Snow Report

Lots of snow, little sun – that sums up the past week and that with sometimes cold temperatures. In the end, this led to some remarkable powder days.

Over the course of the week, certainly more than a meter of fresh snow fell. The peak was Wednesday with more than half a meter in 24 hours. Bakhmaro recorded more wind than Project X, but the same amount of snow. The sun did peek out briefly, but we didn't see much of the Greater Caucasus Mountains or the Black Sea – visibility was often poor.

Tuesday was cold and the snow was beautifully fluffy. A perfect day! Wednesday was simply "deep" and not rideable for everyone. Due to higher safety requirements, the groups stayed close to the slopes on less steep runs and, especially in the morning, needed to break trail to make any progress at all in the deep snow. However, in the late afternoon, the sun even came out for a sunset kicker session.

Due to the stronger winds, the situation in Bakhmaro was more tense than in Project X.

By Thursday, despite the low temperatures, the snow had noticeably settled, and more lines were possible again.
